This course introduces graduate students to the biblical, theological, philosophical, historical, and contemporary foundations of Christian education. Students critically examine the biblical mandate for teaching, the educational ministry of the Church, historical developments in Christian education, major educational philosophies, and current challenges facing Christian educators in diverse ministry contexts. Special attention is given to integrating biblical theology with educational theory and practice, enabling students to develop a coherent philosophy of Christian education that is faithful to Scripture and responsive to contemporary educational needs.
